Club and NET Championships

The CHMGA Club Champion is the “best” golfer in the association, as determined by an end of season Match Play tournament played by the 8 lowest handicap (Tournament Index) members in the association, and played from the Hawk tees using gross scoring. In 2024, Justin Smith took the Club Championship, beating Bill Minnery in the Match Play Finals, 1up.

2025 Club Championship

In 2025, CHMGA will be opening up the Club Championship to any member who wants to compete for it, as long as they play from the Hawk tees using Gross scoring.

Based on the number of members who sign-up to compete, we will play either a 3, 4, or 5 round Match Play tournament to determine the Club Champion.

In late July, sign-ups will open for the Club Championship. Members wanting to compete must have played in at least 6 CHMGA tournaments during the 2025 season.

2025 NET Championship

In 2025, CHMGA will be crowning our first NET Champion. While not the best golfer in the association, the NET Championship will give those golfers not competing in the Club Championship the chance to win bragging rights as the “best of the rest” for 2025.

Those members participating in the 2025 NET Championship will play in a qualifying tournament on August 23rd, with the top 8 NET finishers moving on to play in a 3 round Match Play tournament to determine the NET champion. Both the August 23rd qualifier and the Match Play tournament will be played from the QuickSilver tees to give all members an equal chance of winning.

Sign-ups for the NET Championship will go out in late July, at the same time as those for the Club Championshp. Members may NOT compete in both the Club Championship and the NET Championship (you must choose one or the other). Members wanting to compete must have played in at least 6 CHMGA tournaments during the 2025 season.

Tournament Schedules

Based on the number of members entering the Club Championship tournament, the schedule below will be used for determining the Club Champion.

The NET Championship tournament will use the same schedule, except the Aug 23rd tournament will be used as a qualifying tournament to determine the 8 members who move forward as part of the Elite Eight NET Match Play tournament.

  • “Byes” will be issued, based on the participants TIs, for any “vacant” spots we have in the bracket.

*** IF we have more than 16 members sign-up  to compete in the Club Championship, then participants will schedule/play their first round matches on their own between Aug 1st and Aug 17th.
